Pateley Bridge is a small beautiful town in Nidderdale. It is surrounded by local butchers, shops and pubs (although strictly only soft drinks are allowed for those designated drivers!) Pateley Bridge has a lovely large park for you to stretch your legs after a long drive. It is also home to England's oldest sweet shop! I think we can all agree that there is nothing better than sweets on a road trip.
Grassington is a true Yorkshire gem! This amazing market town is completely surrounded by scenery. In the town you can find little independent shops, pubs and cafes making it a FAB place to visit on your Yorkshire road trip. On the very edge of Grassington you will find the flowing river Wharfe with Linton falls. This is only a short walk from the town centre and an even shorter drive.
Malham is the home of the famous cove. Malham is known for being not only seriously beautiful but also for its famous appearance in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am sure we have some Harry Potter fans here ... don’t we! Malham has many scenic routes that you can take with pubs and restaurants at the end where you can sit inside and enjoy a lovely meal and a refreshing drink. Malham is a must if you like the adventure.
Pickering is packed with popular tourist destinations, independent shops and natural and historic attractions. Pickering is a beautiful and vibrant market town. There is something for everyone packed into this little town. If you want a break from your road trip you can take a trip on the North York Moors railway on the world's most popular heritage railway.
